The lead Pastor of The Refinery Church has stirred up controversy online after taking to Twitter to chastise Christians who are millionaires.
According to the preacher, millionaires who have never given N1m in their local churches are “bad specimen of a believer”. He also said that such people are not radical about God’s work on earth and will have little reward in heaven.
He tweeted;
“If you are a millionaire and you have never given 1million naira before in your local church, you are a bad specimen of a believer in that aspect of the faith! You are stingy towards God! You are saved, you are loved, you have eternal life, you will never perish but you are not radical about God’s work on earth and you have little reward in heaven! If your theology is to use widow’s mite as your yardstick for giving, thus you give mites and kobo in your local church , you are a bad specimen of a believer in that aspect of the faith!
“You folks will just talk talk talk talk , then move to the next trending conversation. All because of 1million, you are screaming like demons. 1million can’t even pay for some hall rent for a one time event. It can’t even rent decent sound for a service in most cases. You all are groaning and crying over that. Please continue. Weep, sob, drown yourself in tears of your hypocrisy. Those of us who give our millions are hoping we will give billions and reach more people with the gospel. Those of you who you spend on vanities but 1million is a luxury to give for the gospel should cry yourself a river. Sit in your tears. Enjoy the salty stream of your eyes. By the way, if #1000 can help you in any way, drop your account o, you can’t shed tears and still see. One stone, two birds.”
