Residents in different areas in Lagos came out of their homes this morning, Feb. 20, to flooded streets after just a few hours of rainfall.
Areas like Abule-Egba, Aguda, and Agege, experienced flash flooding.
Photos and videos from these areas show cars partially submerged in water and residents trudging through water to get around.
The Official X handle of the National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA), acknowledged the flooding and wrote: “Lagos residents are urged to take caution and use alternative routes as flash floods are occurring due to high volume of rainfall NEMA, LASEMA Fire Service, Police and other Stakeholders are working to get people out of High-risk areas.”
