It’s not a poisonous snake he just needs to treat the wound and perhaps some jabs against contracting something, but yes boots would have helped him a lot

Why go for inspections in a forested area without long boots and other protective gears? Anyway, luckily for him, that’s a python. It’s not poisonous. He might get a deep gash on his leg from the bite but he will be fine. He won’t die. Pythons, just like boas and anacondas, kill by strangulation (coil around their prey and snuff life out of them). He would have been in danger of it were a puff adder, a mamba, a cobra, and the like. These are usually not as big as the python but are typically longer and faster. The puff adder is stocky (thick and short) with a perfect dead leaf camouflage. A mambe could be grey or green but has a black mouth. The cobra inflates a hood around its neck region when threatened or threatening with a slight hiss. A bite victim from any of these can die within a day if untreated as the flesh will start getting rotten almost immediately,

PPE is very very important. If you have a boot on you would have avoided that bite. I pray you come out strong and healthy

Nigerians with noise, they should have done the basic thing of tying the area of the snake bite tightly before calling for a car to take him to the hospital.

A little bit above the region where the snake bite occurred should have been firmly tied. Simple first aid act could save a lot of people. It’s a non venomous snake though. If it were to be a deadly snake like mamba, Cobra or rattle snake, that guy could be dead before the got to the hospital.
