Nigerians express their frustrations as cost of medical products continue to skyrocket

Nigerians have taken to social media to lament as the cost of medical products in the country continue to skyrocket.

An X user said the price of a drug she takes has moved from N85,000 to N272,000 in a year. Another mentioned that her hearing aid went from N1.5 million to N5.7 million.

Wake up bro…Britain economy enters recession last month, inflation rate in Ghana has hit 50%, Ethiopia is defaulting in IMF loan repayment etc. There is economy crisis worldwide disrupting several countries. It may look worse in Nigeria because of poor management for decades subsidising consumption (petrol etc) instead of production and failure to diversify from oil dependent. It has nothing go do with the party in government now. It could have been a PDP or Labour party

Imagine! I just knew APC people will want to score cheap points using Uk recession as excuse. Always looking at the back to have hope. Why not compare with countries that are doing better?

Can you have sense for once….That the UK economy is in recession has nothing to do with Nigerians insane cost of living today. People in the Uk are still living very comfortable lives with less apprehension.
..but paid bots like you wouldn’t know would you…

Yes there is economic downturn world wide but, APC mismanaged Nigeria.
The rot was massive under Buhari, Tinubu is not free from the blame because he is a member of APC and he also supported Buhari to get into power through the eight years.

Your comparison is inaccurate in my opinion. People are upset because in comparison to other oil producing countries, we are seriously under performing in all aspects. We are too blessed to be in this situation. Weather, soil, mineral resources, people’s intellect… our sin is that we keep choosing wrongly thanks to tribe-induced blindness.

You are struggling to admit that Tinubu made the most stupid move of announcing that subsidy will be removed and did so within 24hrs. Now, he has started paying the subsidy 6times more than the previous government. These guys are experimenting with the economy. A PDP or Obi government would have phased the subsidy removal and not just removed it outrightly only to start paying more now for the same subsidy.

Shut the fuck up . Complete dummy . I am currently in the UK and life is good. No inflation, no banditry, no kidnapping. All social amenities are available . I am far from Nigeria but I still weep to such news . And you are here talking trash. You deserve a slap .

It’s not difficult to know an APC apologist. You people are always very quick to point out that other countries economy is in recession as a puerile de fence to irresponsible leadership offered by your party, but will never be sincere enough to point out that recession for this other economies is just for some time and they will soon recover.
In the case of Nigeria on the other hand, the recession is perpetual and permanent. Not even a stable economy can withstand the level economic recklessness and irresponsibility demonstrated by the Buhari misrule. It was a three-pronged menace. 1. They were borrowing recklessly. 2. The were depleting the foreign reserves and 3. They were pledging future receipts from the country’s crude sales to collect credits. And unfortunately, nobody can point to the impacts of all the monies borrowed by the evil government. And you expect that there will be no repercussion?
Nigeria’s problems are as a direct result of very terrible leadership. For 8 solid years, Buhari did not implement any transformational policy, he ran the nation through lies, excuses, recrimination and propaganda, though of course he wanted to implement RUGA and of course he did the DE-RADICALIZATION of members of boko haram (Whatever that meant).
The APC and its promoters especially this evil man now in power should be held squarely responsible for all the woes of Nigeria, there should be no letting off. Evil men.

If you think if any of the other parties viz PDP or LP had won the Presidential election, we would have fared better economically than what we are currently experiencing, then you’re probably daft and not in tune with the economic mess the current administration inherited. Nigeria is technically in an undeclared recession. Neither Obi nor Atiku would have been able to proffer immediate solutions to our present quagmire. You Obidiots are very silly to think that you have a magician in Peter Obi, who can solve all our problems and turn Nigeria into an overnight Dubai.

You mean 2pounds per hour in Nigeria or 2pence. 2pounds is over #4,000 at current exchange rate while so many people still #18,000 a month in Nigeria as minimum wage. Pls do the maths well

There’s a lot of ignorance being portrayed here, whatever we’re passing through right now as a country was inevitable wether now or in the future. We need to cut down on our flamboyant lifestyle cos ultimately we shouldn’t have been able to afford it in the first place but for the cosmetic approach taken by successive governments.

Tibubu made a horrible mistake by announcing that subsidy is gone within 5mins is his inaugural speech.
This hard time would have still come subsidy removal was phased out.
I guess buhari avoided this hardship from happening in his presidency untill he handed over power

The fact you even considered insulting someone who is probably older than your parents showed the failure of your parents… when people say igbo people lack proper upbringing, ignorant loud and obnoxious I used to think it’s just wrong stereotyping of a tribe but this election has revealed a lot and I’m begining to think that there is some truth to that. If you take some of the stupid comments on LIB and few ones on other social media platforms you will see there’s pattern. Agreed the last election was fraudulent but it is not enough to result to this vindictive behavior. Most of us who campaign and voted for the obedient movement were not igbo…we did so because we believed in him, but now when you come online and see igbo cursing on everyone else over an election that is over, it just sends the wrong message.
